5 Most Common Blog Headers for WordPress

The blog header is the first thing that a reader will see when viewing your blog. This small graphic provides the most important information about your blog and what you have to say on it. It is important to make a good blog header because this is what attracts your readers to your blog. If readers do not know what your blog is about, they will not visit it. A blog header needs to be written in a way that makes sense. In other words, it needs to grab the reader's attention right from the get-go.

So, what do some bloggers use as blog headers? Well, there are many out there, but a few of the most popular blog headers are mentioned below. You can even modify these to suit your own blog. Just use your imagination!

A blog header that simply has your blog name and a few lines about what it is about is common. Most bloggers will do this for their blog as well. One thing to keep in mind though is that your header needs to be one hundred percent specific to your blog topic. So, if you are writing about boating, do not put "boating" or "boat" in the blog title. Just a few words above and below the title will do. Just make sure you have a call-to-action in the blog header text to get readers to go to your blog.

Another common blog header is the blog text header. Many bloggers like to use this as well, but it is used less often. What it does is bring the reader's eye to the blog text, making it easier for them to read your blog. Usually, it is placed beneath the post or next to the post title. This means that people who read your blog already know what it is about, so you do not need to add in the keyword every other time.

The third most common blog header is the image header. This is where you can really go crazy with the formatting. It does not have to be anything fancy just make sure you use your main image for the text. You can change the background color, change the color of the text, and pretty much anything else you want to. This makes it very visually appealing to your blog readers and will keep them on your blog longer. Most of the time they will not even click past the article title to get to your blog unless it has an awesome graphic that grabs their attention.

The fourth most common blog text header is the blog description header. This is the post or index page. This is what lists all the benefits or interesting facts about your blog. This gives readers a quick synopsis of what the blog is about and will entice them to explore further. Make it unique so that you will not be duplicating someone else's blog.

The fifth most common blog header is the blog link header. This is where the readers will click to find your blog. This is the text that links readers to the specific blog they are looking for. If it does not direct them to your blog, then it is not useful information. Use bold and italics to make it noticeable, so they will read it.

Your header and blog text should not just be there to give readers an idea of what the blog is about. It must also be able to encourage them to visit your blog. Do not fill your blog with random content or images. Make the text directly relate to what the blog post is about. This will keep readers interested in reading what you have to say on your blog.
